The Macallan Archival Series commemorates the iconic Macallan advertising campaigns of the 1970s, 80s and 90s. The Folio 1 was released 2015 and will comprise of 24 individual "Folios". 

The Folio 7 explores the legendary advertising campaign from 1986, ‘The Boffins Baffled’. This particular campaign tells the story of the time when The Macallan directors invited a party of scientists to try to unravel why The Macallan was so special. These scientists were left completely baffled as no scientific rationale could explain the so-called magic which took place in the sherry-seasoned oak casks. The Boffins, therefore, insisted on taking some extra whisky back to the laboratory for ‘research’.
